iPhone users will finally be able to take advantage of Skype 2.0, with 3G calling, according to a report. But after August they'll have to pay for the privilege of Skype-to-Skype calls with the new service.

Update, May 31 at 6 a.m. PDT: In a separate report, PC World reported that Skype had not yet decided how to charge for the 3G calls and that the fees would kick in "after the end of 2010." That report also said the new 3G service applies to the iPhone, iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS; users of the second- and third-generation iPod Touch can also use the Skype service, but only over Wi-Fi, since those devices lack 3G, and only with a compatible headset with microphone.
