Japan watching China's military closely

I selected this topic because I am interested in China as the world economic leader in Asia. In present time. Nowadays, China is a powerful country in both terms of economic and politics aspects. For me, I believe that China will be the most powerful economic country in the world soon.

Japan government said on Tuesday that it would keep closely on Beijing's military build-up and US government report that China's rising defense power is changing East Asia's military

Japan believed that Beijing was expanding its activities far offshore for protecting its territory. In April, Tokyo protested after a Chinese naval helicopter made a close fly-by of one of its destroyers on the high seas off a southern Japanese island. it is provocative japan.

USA government said China's military buildup was the main factor in Changing East Asian military balances and could provide China with a force capable of conducting a range of military operations in Asia well beyond Taiwan

After finished reading, I realize that security of country depends the military strengthening. I think that China would like to be "the world policeman" like USA. does now. I plan that I will find more information about military control and importance of military on the country's security.

Japanese relief equipment arrives in Pakistan+

I select this topic because the situation of flooding in Pakistan is disaster for both Pakistan people and people around the world. For me, this situation points out that we are strongly affected from the global warming.

As a news mention that Japanese relief operations are expected to begin before the end of the month after GSDF engineers reassemble the helicopters and conduct test flights.
They are 13 helicopters provided by the Pakistani military and the United Arab Emirates are operating out of Multan to to lift supplies to flood victims, Pakistani defense officials said.
If affected Around 8.2 million people in Punjab by floods and around 500,000 homes damaged. and At least 15 million people in Pakistan have been affected by the floods and around 1 million homes damaged, according to the United Nations.
Japan is planning to provide support in airlifting victims, food and medical supplies in the area within a radius of around 200 kilometers from Multan.
After I read this article, even it is not much in information but I learned a lot about this. I learned that Pakistan is a poor Islamic country where is facing with the most dangerous situation of flooding. I can't imagine of at least 15 million people affected by the floods and 1 million homes damaged. I learned that natural disaster can harm life and property of people and the effective warning system is very important for human life saving.

Japan’s Copper Cable Shipments Increase 2.9% in July

I read an article about business in Japan and select one related to an aspect of shipment. I select this topic because it provides me a plenty room for economic point of view. It's a good experience for me understanding the importance of copper in business in Japan. This article talks about the shipment of copper cable increase in Japan because of the country's export-led economy grew. Shipments in Japan increased to 59,700 metric tons in July by comparing with with 58,032 metric tons last year. Also, shipments for the construction sector declined 3.6 percent in July from a year earlier. Anyway, Japanese policy makers have to work hard for policy planning since Japanese yen is stronger. Thus, policy makers have to make recovery by expanding fiscal spending and loosening monetary policy to weaken the yen.

After I finished reading this article, I realize that economic data are very important for economic forecast. For me, I don't know much about "economic terms" such as GDP, fiscal spending etc., so some points of this article makes me confused. By the way, I have to read more and understand more about economic terms since I am going to study Business in MUIC.

Honda's U.S. output protects profit

I had read the news about business in Japan. This article is about Honda's U.S. output protects profit. The Honda Motor Corporation the first automaker that build cars in the U.S. 28 years ago.
There were 89 percent of Honda automobile sold in U.S. On the other hand, there were only 82.2 percent sold in Canada and Mexico. Furthermore, the others Japanese car company such as Toyota motor Corp. and Nissan Motor Co. reached 68 percent of vehicle that sold in U.S.

Honda's high rate of production in U.S. gain more benefit. Japanese carmakers are attempting to reduce the cost and boost efficiency and try to shift the product to cheaper regions since they have been competitive with others component.

First Honda operation in U.S. auto plant in Marysville, Ohio in 1982. Honda has rose to become the fourth-largest car makers in the U.S. by sales, and follow the track of general motors Co., Ford Motor Co. and Toyota.

There was some relevant the U.S. The U.S. restricted Japanese auto exports ,so Honda's aimed to motivate the company local plants viewed and satisfy customer as well as to fulfill an ambition of its founder.

In my point of view, I thought that Honda's corporation can reach the goal to protect profit of company ,so I noticed that Honda was become the major carmaker in U.S.

Japan vows big climate change cut

I had a chance to read an article about environment and I noticed that it's a good ideas for reducing greenhouse gas because Japan is a very big industrialized country. Japan make a lot of pollution a year so I think that it's great for the leader to make an agreement to reduce the make of pollution

Japan's next leader has promised a big cut in greenhouse gas emission, the purpose is to reduce greenhouse gas up to 25% reduction by 2020 compare with 1990 levels
Democratic Party leader Yikio Hatoyama is due to take over as prime minister on 16 September. His predecessor, Taro Aso had promised cut of only 8 %

Japan will take on the leader ship role that industrialized countries have agreed to take in climate change abatement and nowaday, Japan is the world's second-largest economy and fifth-largest emitter of greenhouse gases, which are a major contributor to climate change. but they are some of business group that against the plans such as automotive industry.

Japan has been under pressure to make a policies on climate change because emission in Japan rose last year to 16% and it's above the Kyoto protocol target.

In my point of view, Japan should take interest in pollution because Japan make a lot of pollution a year from automotive industries and other industries in Japan. I think that it's a good policy to reduce the greenhouse gases in the world.

Pollution in Waterway

People all over the world enjoy tempura. In Japan, household throw out nearly 200,000 tons of used cooking oil every year. Some of it simply poured down in the waterways where it pollutes local waterways. Yumi Someya of U's corporation said that "Tokyo is a big oil field, and every home and restaurant is a spot for drilling"

In the past, Someya didn't realize just how relevant the family business was untill she survived a shocking landslide while vacationing in Nepal at the age of 18. This situation happened because the area had been deforested for road construction and after that she began to think about environmental issues. "I saw that we had become affluent," She says, " but there was much that was lost.

Someya urged her father to reposition the family company as " an environmental business of the future. and the company began to experiment how to turing cooking oil into fertilizer and soap.

Right now , U's Corporation collects about 100 tons of oil a month from 5,400 restaurants and 100 collecting stations. Someya has a plan to recycling all the used cooking oil in Tokyo within eight years and she named the plan as "Tokyo Yuden 2017", yuden meaning "oil field" in Japanese.

In my point of view, I think that Someya has a very good vision for recycling the cooking oil and make it to soap and fertilizer so Japanese people should realize that they make a lot of pollution by using cooking oil to make tempura. Tempura uses a lot of oil to deep fried so I think that Japanese should prefer another dish that uses less oil and it's more healthy that the dish that cook with a lot of oil.

Honda aims is to sale hybrid car by launch the new Fit car as sales domestic sales of its Insight hybrids between January and July totaled some 26,000 units, about one-tenth of the 204,882 units of Toyota’s Prius hybrids sold in the same period.

In my point of view, it's a big competition between two big car company, Toyota and Honda. It's a good thing because it will compete in the range of price that will be cheaper and it's good for environment that is a big problem nowadays.
